August 18, 2020

A meeting of the E911 Committee was held August 18, 2020 at the Brule County Courthouse. Members present: Rich Rasmussen, Brule County, Gary Dominiack, Oacoma; Chris Reitsma, Kimball, Jerry Wingert, Pukwana and Tim Thomas, Chamberlain. Also present: Katheryn Benton and Pamela Petrak 911 Co-coordinator and Janet Petrak, Central Dakota Times.

Tim Thomas called the meeting to order at 12:05 pm with a quorum present and reviewed the May 19, 2020 minutes. Jerry Wingert moved and Rich Rasmussen seconded to accept the minutes. All members voted aye. Motion carried.

Kathryn Benton advised that she is still waiting for a quote from Power Com for the backup generators for the repeaters due to the COVID pandemic, other contractors will be contacted to see if a quote can be obtained and move forward. Maria King, State 911 Coordinator advised that 911 funds could be used for the generators. Benton also advised that Midstate Communications and B & L Communications are in the process of updating the Chamberlain area, the cost will be $13,660.00. Discussion was held on the grant monies received for the mobile computers and the need to purchase software from Zuercher. Auditor Petrak was instructed to see if 911 Funds could be used to help purchase the software.

The 911 Contract was presented that reflects an 8% increase for the next 5 years. The 911 contract will increase to $66,866.58 and the traffic stop contract will increase to $10,448.56 for 2021.

Board members were presented with Trial Balance Sheet; 911 budget, 911 surcharges collected through August, 2020 and Calls per Contracting County from Mitchell Regional 911 Center.

Then next meeting was scheduled for November 17, 2020 at twelve o’clock noon.

Jerry Wingert moved and Chris Reitsma seconded to adjourn at 12:22 pm. All members voted aye. Motion carried.
